The Machine

Dry stoner is a machine specially
designed to separate heavier impurities
like stone,glass pieces, metal frag-
-ments etc. In the cleaning section it
ensures Complete removal of heavier
impurities. By using the principle of
separation through difference in specific
densities separates heavier impurities
from the grain.

OPERATION
The material is delivered to the machine at a uniform rate and fed through a feed gate to
theentire width of the screen. In the first sieving zone, air is blown through the bed of
material from the bottom. The stream of material is stratified according to its specific
gravity by theoscillating motion of the screen and by the air flowing through the material
from bottom to top. The light particles collect at the top, and the heavy ones including the
stones at the bottom.The lower layer with the heavy particles flows upward and is fed to
the final separation zone of the bottom destoning screen.Final separation of the stones,
glass pieces, iron particles etc. from the grain is accomplished by a countercurrent of air.
The clean material on the two screens float on cushions of air flowing slowly towards the
material outlet.
